Direct Sound?

Featured Replies

Every time I load the 737NG I get a Connot Load Direct Sound??now....I know that I don't have a soundcard(I got a onboard, but no drivers.....can't find them)I realy whant to fly the 737NG again (I've flown it on my bro's comp.....but it has a hardware crash)

If you have an onboard sound chip like AC97, it may not be enabled in BIOS. If you dont know how to adjust the BIOS pehaps a buddy can show you how.If you want to try it here goes.Depending on the make of the machine you need to press a certain key to enter setup. On most computers you will see a message "To Enter Setup" press . You have to do it quickly before you get beyond that screen. Other machines may be the key. Gateway is usually .After you get into setup use your arrow keys to move accross to Periferals, then cursor down or do what you have to do to navigate to "Onboard periferals". You should then see/find something like AC97 sound or similar. When it's highlited hit the enter key(Usually) and you will see "Enable" or "Disable". Use your arrow keys to highlite your choice and press enter again. At that point your onboard sound controller should work. The BIOS has this feature so that IF you have a sound card like the Creative Live or Audigy, you can disable the onboard sound controller. Computers seem to get confused with more than 1 sound device.Regards

Allmost forgot!after you do the above you will want to corsor to exit. In the submenu highlite "Exit Saving Changes" or simular. Then usually hit enter twice and you machine will reboot and you should be all set.Regards
