April 7, 200422 yr Hi,I'm currently writing a SID/STAR file for EGJJ - Jersey. I'm enjoying doing the short hop EGKK-EGJJ and back but I don't have any SIDS/STARS for the airport. The STARS for RWY 27 are fine, no problem. A problem develops with the STARS for RWY 09.All the STARS for 09 end holding over Jersey NDB (JW 329). No problem there, easy enough to write. So for example for Jersey 1G I wrote:STAR JW1G NAVAID ORTAC NAVAID ALD NAVAID SHARK HOLD AT NAVAID JW RIGHT TURN INBOUNDCOURSE 086 SPEED 180 LEGTIME 1 RNW 09The problem is the FMC seems to think that JW is over 3000 miles away. Okay that in itself is not a problem. In the fixes section I enter:FIX JW LATLON N 49 11.21 W 2 13.12That was the information from the STAR chart (available from www.ais.org.uk).Even with that it still thinks that the NDB is over 3000 miles away. How can I solve this? Thanks in advance.Aaron-oOo-PS Just had a brilliant idea, going to try renaming it to NDBJW and see if that works.
April 7, 200422 yr The problem (which I found out after changing the name from JW to NDBJW) was that I was using NAVAID and not FIX. I have solved it and all works fine now.Aaron-oOo-
