April 27, 200422 yr With the higher REF speeds and gross weights of these planes should we be using flap 40? How do you know when to use 40?
April 27, 200422 yr Hey Alex,Someone in another post (who is obviously more in-the-know than you or I) mentioned that a flaps 40 landing is more or less the standard way of landing the 8/900 due to the fact that it'll reduce the nose up attitude on final and thus reduce the potential of a tailstrike during the flare.So from that I simply take that when flying the 6/700 - use 30 flaps as the standard practice, 8/900 - 40 flaps is standard.Hope it helps :)CheersDavid
