May 6, 200422 yr Hi folks,Generally I'm extremely impressed with the whole 737 series.Found a few new bugs.Just for confirmation and troubleshooting I unistalled everything and reinstalled it with the following results.PMDG 737-700 1.2 engine shutdown possible with the engine fire switch.PMDG 737-700 1.3 same as abovePMDG 737-700 with the 800/900 installed, engine fire switch does not shut down the engine. Also if you select engine fail at V1 or engine fail in e.g. 10sec, the failure panel states correctly that the engine HAS failed but it doesn't fail. Same for the engine driven and electric hydraulic pumps etc...RegardsBernt Stolle Capt 767
May 6, 200422 yr I noticed some glitches too.If i triggered a failure, and had the throttle window open, then the failure was correctly triggered. If the throttle window is not open, the failure isn't triggered until/unless you open the throttle window. Then if you discharge the fire bottle, it doesn't cut the engine.I have been succesful in cutting the engine only once, and couldn't reproduce it.Any hints?Claudio
May 7, 200422 yr "Then if you discharge the fire bottle, it doesn't cut the engine."Pulling the handle is supposed to cut an engine, but discharging the fire bottle won't if that fails ;-)The halon gas is released into the enclosed side cowl area of the engine, not into the core of the engine. Even if the gas were released into the core of the engine (with the thrust and airspeed high), I don't think very much would happen. If it did, the engine would probably auto-relight.Cheers.Ian.P.S. By the way, if there is no fire, you shouldn't be able to pull the fire handles (unless you use a special hidden release button underneath them).
