May 8, 200422 yr Hi,I'm using a 9800 pro, Win XP Pro (SP1 updated), a 15" LCD screen (so I run at 1024*768 all the time), a 2400+ on a K7S5A with 512Mb of RAM, and I have a problem with the new omega drivers (2.5.36b) : when I activate anti aliasing, the 2D panels (M, Z, A or L views) become "1 pixel thinner" than the outside view window. I don't know if I can explain it right, but there are 1 pixel-wide lines at the top, the bottom, the left and the right of the panel where I can see the scenery (or the sky) through. It's as if I reduced the panel size by 1 pixel in height and length. I tried to strech it manually but it didn't work. The only thing I can do is reduce a little the outside view to fit it with the panel. It happens in all resolution (800*600, 1024*768...) when AA is activated (either 2x or 4x...). I haven't tried with FS own AA option coz it doesn't work at all (even if I don't input manual parameters for AA & AF in the ATI drivers menu).I also have another problem with all the planes : I got blurry gauges when I activate the anisotropic filtering. I had poor performance with the official catalyst 4.4 (frame rate not going above 15-20 even at 35000 ft in CAVOK conditions) but didn't have this blurry gauge problem. That leads me to the ultimate question (;)) : Radeon 9800 users, what drivers are the best for FS2004 ?I know this isn't specific to the 737NG but I hope you can help me :)
May 9, 200422 yr Hi,I used the standard 4.4 driver without any problems, I have a P4 3.2ghz with a 9800XT card. I am currently using the Omega drivers though I can't say it has increased my frame rate at all. If you have very high graphics settings I don't think you will get higher FPS with that CPU, I get 25-28 in clear conditions going to 20 in storm building conditions. It will dip lower sometimes so consider those as averages. Steven W.
