Interesting fact about Engine Failures

Featured Replies

Hello everyone...I just discovered a very interesting thing about engine failures. Some said it's failing at V1, some at 80 knots? Well, I think it all depends on ONE thing: what aircraft is loaded on beginning. Is it default Cessna? PMDG Beech? I found out, that if I load up the FS with Cessna 172, I get usually V1 fail, than I can restart, and take off normally.BUT, if I load FS initially with PMDG Beech (cold cockpit), and then load the 737-600, start up all systems, except FMC, I get 100% for sure each time 80knots engine fail. Usually right engine fails. So this isn't coincidence I think. And to say one thing more, if I boot up the FS inititally with the 737, engine failed error *never* occurs.I believe that Beta Testers and most of you load up the FS directly with *any* 737, and thus not getting any errors. Like I'm doing lately, but still, I'd like to boot up the FS with the Cessna, because sometimes I gets annoying when I want to test some stuff, load up FS many many times, and then each and every time waiting for the AIRAC datebase to load, is kinda painful :)Anyway, I hope this helps to some of you, surely helped me!

The engine failure has happened to me 3 times now, twice in the last 2 days. With both of these last two times, I left the aircraft (default flight, no swapping) sitting on the ground unpaused while I got various details about my flight etc off the internet and on the computer. I therefore believe it might be something to do with how long it is before you begin to use the aircraft in flight sim.Of course I'm probably wrong :(!Cheers,Geoffrey BaleanCanberra, AU (YSCB)http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg http://www.vozvirtual.org/images/pmdgforumsignature.png"Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. Yeah, but what interests me, which aircraft loaded initially when you opened FS?

Guys, don't worry about it. Lefteris has it fixed, and the upcoming patch will fix it for your plane.

Great news!!
