PMDG - Airline Style Menu (PFD)

Featured Replies

Help Please!I do not have the enhanced Airline Style options on my PMDG Menu.I have the following installed:-FS9 - ACOF737NG Package Upgraded to 1.3737-800/900 Package installed + the temp fix file.I've re-installed everything a couple of times now, after using the removal tool, and still only have the basic 737NG styles menu. Am I doing anything wrong? I would like to get away from the default Southwest Analogue/Glass combination to an entirely glass set-up.RegardsAlex McBain

Under "Styles" in the PMDG menu, you should have a voice "Airline Selection".In this tab there are two fields:upper one is a list of airlineslower one is the setup of the instrumentationIf you leave the upper field blank (ie "select airline" voice shown) you can select the glass style and it will be applied to all airplanes.

Ciao Claudio,That's the problem - I don't have that menu choice, despite installing the 800/900 package. For some reason it hasn't installed properly, although the planes seem fine.I still only have the old menu.RegardsAlex McBain

Alex, Are you running Windows98 or WindowsME. I had the same problem runnging Win 98. Switching to WinXP solved the problem. You can go into the airlines.txt file in PMDG folder, copy down the options for the airline you want and change the settings manually if you really want to.regards,Ryan

Hi Ryan,I'm afraid I'm running XP, needless to say I've absolutely no idea why the PMDG 800/900 isn't installing properly.Would you be able to advise as to which files to edit?ThanksAlex

Might seem like a stupid question but have to tried reinstalling?John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer

Hi John,As above , I've re-installed 3 or 4 times, including using the PMDG Removal tool to try and clean the original NG package as well.I'm mystified by the whole thing !RegardsAlex

Hi Alex, that is strange indeed. I installed XP over the top of 98 and the menu came back. didn't even require a reinstall of FS9 or PMDG. What video card/ drivers are you using? Someone mentioned early on that this might be a driver issue. As far as the .txt file -what I was saying (badly) was this: in the airlines.txt file (at work-can't remeber the exact name right now, but it's the file in the fs9/PMDG folder that has the airline config options- you'll know it when you see it). If you look in that folder it will have each airline's options delineated. such as:American AirlinesEFIS/ND=1etc. etc.You can note the options and then set them manually via the rest of the PMDG styles menu... that's a bit of a hassle, but better than nothing. I'll check it out some more when I get home tonight.regards,Ryan

Hi Ryan,I'm using a GeForce Fx5600. Updated tonight to the latest Nvidia drivers - 56.72 and re-installed all the PMDG stuff again. - No change!Saw the Airlines file, thanks but in what file do I edit the Airline choice. Would like to change to Easyjet for the Glass Flight Deck. Thanks again.Alex

Ryan,Thanks for your efforts. It's now up and running. I deleted every reference to PMDG, including from the Registry, disabled all my virus/firewall settings (including XP's own) and re-installed everything with full reboots.RegardsAlex

Glad to hear you got it working Alex. Happy flying!Ryan
