FMC Thrust Rating

Featured Replies

i am fiddling around a little, setting more accurate thrust ratings for my PMDG NG (obviously changes according to different airline engine choice), but is it possible to chnage the thrust rating in the FMC?? is there a setting in the panel.cfg or aircraft.cfg???the thrust rating changes for the different models (600,700,800,900), so ii assume there is a variable somewhere that affects this.

i am increasing the thrust rating not decreasing it.specifically i want the FMC to work a 27K thrust rating for the -700, not the 24K that is set. derating the thrust in the FMC is irrelevant.

I had a question about that too. ATA has -7B27s on their 738s, but the sim will only allow -7B26s. I've looked around, but cannot find anything in any ini files (other than the airlines.ini, but that doesn't seem to matter on any variant with a -7B27) associated with the PMDG 737NG. It seems there is a hard-coded 'default' engine type specified to each model, but then again, I could be wrong. Would be interested to know if I can get the 27300 pounds of thrust out of those engines that I'd like.

you can change the engine thrust rating easily enough, in the aircraft.cfg there is a line where it is set.the porblem is getting the FMC to use this setting in its calculations.

If I wasn't clear, that is what I meant. Wouldn't really matter if the FMC was still computing its results based on the 7B26, you still wouldn't get the power out of it that you would with the 27. 1K (2K if you count both engines) pounds of thrust may not seem like much, but with a MTOW, high ambient temps, that's precious runway length just kaput.

the lines you want to edit are these (600/700):[TurbineEngineData]fuel_flow_gain=0.002inlet_area=22.619rated_N2_rpm=13200.000static_thrust=27300.000 800/900 you have this:[TurbineEngineData]fuel_flow_gain=0.002inlet_area=22.619rated_N2_rpm=13200.000static_thrust=24200.000 // Adjusted to 26300 by EEC N1 limiterafterburner_available=0reverser_available=1i am unsure exactly what value to put into the 800/900 to produce 27300lbs thrust, as it says it adjusts it (i didn't put that bit there), perhaps someone else can give a pointer???we're trying to achieve 27300lbs thrust & have the rating recognised by tehe FMC...
