Fictitious Airports and FMC

Featured Replies

Dear PMDG,First off fantastic work with the 737 package. Very impressive. I've just made a fictitious airport and I was wondering how do I enter the airport in the FMC? For example when I enter the 4 letter ICAO designator, it says Not In Database, which I to be expected. Any ideas?Cheers.

When the 737NG loads it also loads the airport data from the FS04FMCWPNavaData folder. If an airport is not listed there then you get the error message you got. Airport location is in the "airports.dat" file and runway info is in the "wpNavAPT.txt" file. Just add your fictional airport to those files.BTW one of the requirements for this forum is to sign your message with your real name.RegardsTerry

By adding the coordinates you can add as many things as you want :)

Hi Terry, did all that, and it recognizes the airport on the POS INIT page, but when you try to punch the airport in, on the route page, it says ERROR-RWY12 UNKNOWN or something like that. I made the entry in the wpNavAPT.txt and the Airports.dat file.Cheers,Amman.

Hi there Amman>page, it says ERROR-RWY12 UNKNOWN or something like that. I>made the entry in the wpNavAPT.txt and the Airports.dat file.Interesting. Now you are getting to the edge of my knowledge. It is telling you that it can not find runway 12 at that airport for some reason. What comes to mind is the following.Have you developed a procedures file for your airport? If yes, make sure all the runways are listed.Your airport scenery is installed, activated and working well? You double checked that runway 12 has got accurate figures in that runway file? This being a new airport might be causing some weird FS04 thing to be going on but this is all I can think of right now. If anyone else has ideas, jump in.RegardsTerry
