EFIS Question

Featured Replies

When I set both Navs with the localizer freq. for an autoland, and then I switch it to app mode with the small knob I get a yellow text across the EFIS staing something like " EFIS/Nav Mode disagree"...Not the exact wording but close..Can anyone explain what that is to me? I have read about this some where in here but I cannot locate it.Thanks.Mike

It could be a couple things: 1. Are the ILS frequencies matching the frequencies on the INIT REF page after you selected arrival runway? 2. Are the frequencies in the active window of the radio stack?

Hi,The problem you are talking about is because you have the EFIS control panel rotary knob selected to VOR instead of APP with a LOC frequency selected in the appropriate NAV box. ( The selector is the left most of the two rotary knobs on the EFIS control panel which is the small box to the left of the MCP.On another point:A small snag in PMDG is that unless you tune both NAV boxes to the same LOC Freq you will get an amber strike out of the frequency or Station ID, DME if it has one available and CRS in the top left corner of PFD. This does not occur IRL.Rgds,

Thanks Guys for your replies..I have the knob selected for app and it's not set on VOR...Both Loc freqs are in the active window on the radio panel. I will check the INIT Page for the LOC freqs when I have them selected and see if that's the case. The yellow text does go out when the locaclizer becomes active and so Im thinking that maybe until it goes active based on my distance That's what I'll see..I'll do some experimenting and see what I can come up with..Thanks again for your time to reply..Much appreciated.Mike
