Weather Density in EFIS display

Featured Replies

My name shaheedan, may i know it's possible or not to include a weather info ecpecially cloud density in EFIS display instead of display detail navigation only. i found it in actual EFIS 737-400 panel with all this utilities. that's mean during flight i have an option to deviate of my route if we found the cloud is to bad infront.

This have been discussed before in the forum, it was about adding the Reality-xp WX500 to the efis display to make it project an accurate WX radar picture under the flightplan. Many people (including myself) really want this but there`s been no officcial statement from PMDG concerning wether it will come or not. As far as i can say, keep your fingers crossed and have lots of patience. Maybe one stormy day we will see the cells on the efis display? Please give us an answer PMDG :)RgdsKevin

I think the main problem is just your Reality-XP: why only that? Why should i buy it to see the weather where i already have bought both PMDG products?I, as an ActiveSky user, could ask for includement of the ActiveRadar program. And an FsMeteo user could ask the same.So i think the problem resides in the program itself: it is necessary for PMDG to code their own weather depicting soft, and include some weather reading facility...A pain to make it compatible with every weather program around!

the information needed is already available inside FS9but ofcourse it takes coding to get the weather info from FS9 into the panel(check the SDK... it's in there....)so - no need for third party payware (again)it should display the same weather as displayed by FS9 in front of youhow the weather data gets into FS9 - thats up to you.. (FS weather or third party)
