Runway length part II

Featured Replies

Further to my previous post on the subject, I have now done some research. My original question asked if 5000' is a reasonable min runway length for a tour I'm putting together. I had a mixed response so I decided to try it.I used Vagar [EKVG]which is just over 4000' long as it's one of my proposed stopping points. I have checked and it gets 737 traffic in RL.Having done a few tests I decided the 600 was the best fit for this exercise. I also ran the APU for bleed and power to improve things in my favour. My weight is shown in the pic below and as I only did a circuit landing should be similar to take off.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87086.jpgBasically the take off is OK albeit not much runway is left, and the landing was fine.I also had rain to create a wet runway based on previous comments. For all you NG experts, runway 31 is a good place to practice hand flying the NG as it only has a localiser (offset I believe) so no autolands here. It also has a big hill on the approach. I would be interested to know how people find landing here.I ended up using a flaps 40 120 KIAS approach to get down safely. Here are some shots which show the aircraft coming in low and slow.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87088.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87089.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87090.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/87091.jpg
