Hi guysI hope my fellow PDMG fliers can help me on this one. I recently reloaded Windows XP and of course had to start from scratch with FS2004. I'm now up and running and it's all working fine, with the exception of my ATC. It's not there. All my other sounds work fine, but ATC is gone, gone, gone. When I select an option from the on-screen pop up menu, the ATC works, but the sounds can't be heard. In 'pilot voices' in the drop down menu, there aren't any!I've checked the codecs, checked that ATC is selected, deleted the config file, everything. I'm at the end of my tether, and having messed about for hours reinstalling all my FS software and add-ons, and configuring it, I don't want to start over!Does anyone have any ideas? Something to try (and its just a hunch) is to load up your flight in a default FS9 aircraft and ensure that the Master Battery and Avionics switches are both set to ON. Engines can be off if you wanna start em with the PMDG. But then switch aircraft and crank it up, ATC should be there?

I had the EXACT (and by that I mean the EXACT!!!) same problem back in 2001! But I've forgotten how I solved it... So... I've just searched the forum I posted my problem on way back then and found my own (!) solution (which I had forgotten by now.... ;)) I had the problem at the time with Win98SE though, and FS2002, but hopefully this works for you too...The things was that during the install of Win98SE I did not install Audio compression (for whatever reason)! That was an option under Windows setup > Multimedia. I could hear all kinds of sounds but NOT the ATC! So, I went to Windows setup and installed Audio compression and... all was fine again! So you might want to check if you've got Audio-comporession installed (don't have XP here at hand (I'm on an Apple right now) so I can't tell you where they've hidden the option now... )Hope this helps you!
