August 31, 200421 yr HI i have just purchased the 737 600/700 Can somebody tell me how to start everytime in cold star position ..........regards kiwi pilot from down under
August 31, 200421 yr I don't think there is a practical way to do this, except to start the flight in the default cessna, turn the master switch and magnetos to off and then select your PMDG plane. Hope this helps.Tom
August 31, 200421 yr HiYou might like to try out this little program you can find on Avsim: FS Aircraft Shutdown Version 1.3If you have a problem finfing it please let me know.RegardsPaul
August 31, 200421 yr Kiwi,Not sure if this answers your question, but what I do when I start the sim is go to Select Aircraft, then Boeing-PMDG, then click on Cold and Dark. Works a treat. If you are trying to find a shortcut for this, then sorry, no idea.CheersTim( Karori, Wellington)
August 31, 200421 yr I have my default flight setup the same; except that I use the Baron instead. If I use the Cessna, I can't start the right engine of the 737NG for some reason. Cheers,
August 31, 200421 yr What I do is use the PMDG " Cold and Dark" as a template. I open the flight by selecting it and then I park my 737 at FLL at a Gate, set things like the ATC view in the size and position I want, empty fuel tanks etc, and then resave the flight under " Cold and Dark FLL" ( or whatever your favorite home base airport is) Now I start the flight and I have everything exactly where I want it .
August 31, 200421 yr "then resave the flight under " Cold and Dark FLL"Hiya. Can you PLEASE explain how to do this, in very simple terms?ThanksTim
September 1, 200421 yr When on the FS9 Main Menu, click on 'Select a flight'.Look for the PMDG Cold and Dark flight (it's somwhere there in the list!) and load it (this is the PMDG preferred method!!! PMDG advices NOT to load a Cessna or whatever and change it to the 737NG!)).Now you are in 737NG with a cold and dark cockpit. Now put your plane on the location where you want it (airport, gate, runway, whatever), you can also set fuel, time of day, weather, etc. When everything is set the way you want it, press the ; key (the dot comma key): the 'Save flight' dialogue menu opens (which can also open by using the FS9 menu which you see when you press the alt key) and you can enter a name for the flight you want to save. Click save. You can also (if you want to) tick the option 'Make this the default flight'. Next time you startup FS9 the flight you have saved will be in the list you see under 'Select flight > My saved flight' If you have ticked the option 'Make this the default flight', you don't even have to go the the Select flight option: you can press Fly now immediately to get into the cold and dark cockpit with all settings the way you want them!
