September 9, 200421 yr Sharper and crisper 2D panels would enhance the overall appearance of the panel bitmaps. With the PMDG 737, I didn't like how blurry the 2D panel graphics were--it just looked out of focus. From the screenshot of the 2D overhead panel of the 744 on the PMDG website, I just can't help but feel like I'm looking at the same old 737NG panel. It has that same dull and blurry look. Even more, the knobs the screws look the same, and the whole "feel" and "style" make it feel like a clone of the 737. I did some sharpening work in Photoshop of the overhead panel. The results are shown below. The one on the left is the original; the one on the right is the same graphic except that it's been sharpened. I believe the sharpness and contrast of the picture on the right is much more satisfying.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/90673.jpgThe latest VC screenshots are very impressive. I only hope that the same level of dedication and artistry will be matched or even exceeded in the 2D panels. Thomas
September 9, 200421 yr The panel graphics on the screenshots are temporary so that the programers have something to work with and the graphics designer enough time to come up with the best panel lighting, colors, etc.
