Anyone know how I find these things, everytime I try to programme the FMC, it just staes no SIDS. For the life of me I don't seem to be able to find them:-zhelp :-zhelp

Hi Hossman. That your last name? I don't recall a "No SIDS" error message so I am not sure what steps you are doing and seeing but in any case you need to verify that you have the SIDs/Stars/IAPs properly installed. Look in the FS04PMDGSidStars folder. You should have approximately 1738 files there. These are the SIDs/Stars/IAPs organized by airport ICAO code. Open one of them, look in the header and verify that it is at least cycle 0401. If you do not find any files there or have not updated your nav data and the SIDs/Stars/IAPs data go to http://www.navdata.at and get the current navdata cycle 0409. Then go to either my site at http://home.sw.rr.com/filesherenow/index.html or the PMDG site and get the same cycle number. It is important to always have the same cycles installed because runway numbers change between cycles and this can cause problem if runway numbers don't match between the nav data and the SIDs/Stars/IAPs data. If you have the required files then you may have operator error going on here and you have to supply us more details on what steps you are doing. RegardsTerry

I am still a little unclear on the files that are updated every month. I flew into Toronto Pearson airport last night and was assigned an ILS approach ( I can't remember the runway anymore). FS Nav showed the runway and ILS Freq. The FMC didn't even list the runway or the ILS approach. Where does that information come from? ( as in which file)> By the way I just updated the 2 files that are supposed to keep this info up to date.

Hi Bob,This info is in the SID/STAR file of the select airport. However, these SIDS are STARS are never get updated with a new AIRAC cycle. I guess it has something to do with the complexity of the format of the PDMG SID/STAR files... (they look like tiny programs with all that scripting stuff in it)...At the site http://www.navdata.at/php/sidstar/dl_list.php?addon=PMDG you can always find the latest SID/STARS file for the airport you're missing...And Terry,The problem with the procedures database you have online is that the SID/STARS files are not always ccomplete.Take EHAM for example.. hehe my homebase... is has STARS but no SIDS...L8er,Marc NieuwhofAlmere, The Netherlands

Marc,That is what I thought and I already have the 04/09 version of Sid Stars so I guess Toronto Canada is just missing some runways. Thanks anyway

Thanks for the advice, I have printed the details and intend to sit down and crack this sid/stars thing. Thats if the autodolly at home lets me. I have currently lost sound for some unknow reason and its driving me batty, so I have to sort that one out first. Thanks for your help once againHossman
