September 26, 200421 yr Hi - please forgive the ignorance of a newbie but what exactly is FSUIPC and what is its' use/how do I use it with my PMDG 737ng.Is it anything to do with finding/planning routes or showing airport arrival/departure paths/plans? If not is there something I can get hold of which will allow me to plan flights (preferably freeware)which will give me the SID/STARS and Tranitions that the FMC inevitably requires along with descent heights at VOR's or whatever - there certainly is a lot to learn and it is a VERY steep learning curve. Many thanks for any help.CheersRick
September 26, 200421 yr FSUIPC is just a program written to help 3rd party aircraft "talk" to Flight Simulator. As you're a newbie to flight sim, you wouldn't even need to bother registering it as it has many features you probably wouldn't use yet. It should come with any purchase you make from reputable companies like PMDG but unregistered.Goran
September 27, 200421 yr Hey Rick, FSUIPC is the cherry on the cake Microsoft left out. You don't really need it until the cross wind problem when taxiing, for example, starts to really irritate you or when the visibility layers in FS9 start getting on your nerves, or you just can't live without experiencing turbulence when flying through a cloud! All these can be turned on, fixed and adjusted by paying for FSUIPC. Plus a whole lot more....There really is no freeware flight planner out there that contains all what you want. If you want to spend something I'd reccommend FSNavigator. It has everything you're looking and more including a moving map. September 27, 200421 yr The one reason you probably want to register FSUIPC without being a programmer is just because it fixes a number of issues with FS9 including:- flat battery bug (battery drains because of the way the "logic" is implemented)- joystick calibration problems (lets you fine tune calibration, set deadband, adjust response curve, and map to several axis at once)- some issues related to wind and weatherThe fact that an add-on comes with FSUIPC does not give you as the end user access to these features unless you register it.I highly recommend you register it.
