ACARS - ACTIVESKY - PMDG AND WIND DATA

Featured Replies

PMDG TEAM:I was curious as this juncture, if to facilitate the function of your ACARS in the NG, a bridge between online winds aloft data could be downloaded in conjunction with a program such as Active Sky or even the current MSFS internal weather for those that suffer that punishment? I'm no programmer by any means but was curious to know if something like this is feasible. It's small things like that make huge differences. I love this bird and don't mind putting the wind data in manually but I know that a "one click" option like this would make me and a bunch of others love it more :)

ActiveSky already exports data for other programs (such as weather radards), and PMDG FMC could be "instructed" to go read that file in that directory coded in that format. But this assumes an agreement between PMDG and HifiSim.So it's Really PMDG who should make this agreement and then we could benefit from this, and from an integrated weather radard too :)But the problem would be that in this case only AS users could benefit from this new capabilities.Another possible solutions, ask around and see who would be keen on issuing and update for their weather program, to make it export data to PMDG.If a number of developers (mainly AS and FSMeteo) would and could do this, and an agreement between them and PMDG could be found, then "everybody" using any of those programs could benefit from the new capabilities. But this is complex even in words, imagine in facts :)I don't hold my breath, but hope is last to die :)
