MCP Color Readout

Featured Replies

I noticed in the tutorial of Tim's im following that he has Green Digital display not orange as i have on the MCP..Is there a place in the configs that i can change this color? Green seems to be much easier on my eyes than the plasma style orange..

Hi Moosenoodles,Provided you own the 800-900 series, follow this path from the menu bar: PMDG->737NG->Styles->Colors, and let your artistic talents run riot! :-)BR,FrankPS In thy future, if thou ist to have a future, it behoves thee to append thy bestowed name upon thy missive, lest the great gods who watch over this venerable forum and see all things rise up and smite thee! Oooooo yes i forgot about that :) , thankyou Frank appreciated..also if u look back in is there any trick to making the white lettering more sharper on the 2d cockpit? i run a good rig and am experienced in puters etc but those letters just dont cut it really..I run a 19" sony hmd monitor with a 9800XT gfx card set to high AA and AF settings/high quality.. run the 737 in 1024*768 res same as desktop with 85-100 refresh rates..Its just some pictures i see of peoples cockpits the lettering has great clarity, mine seems washed out and almost a little blurry..Anyway thanks again for the memory jog on the colour stuff...James..

Hi James,Not quite sure which lettering you're referring to?I have hardware something similar to yours, though maybe not quite as good, and I am very pleased with text on the PFD and ND displays, which are extremely sharp and clear. I also really like the smooth depiction of turns on the route(ie curved, not jagged). The MCP numbers have a blockier look, but that's pretty much the way they look IRL.By the way, I run in 1600*1200 on a 19" Dell(85Hz refresh). I'm not sure if the panel has a native resolution, or if it's a case of the higher the better? I do think the font changes as you change resolution(past history - I remember wondering why some shots of the 767PICv1 overhead looked different to mine, because, say, the fuel quantity numbers looked much nicer on published pics. I think now it was to do with different resolutions using different fonts).Maybe you could post a pic of your panel?Best wishes,Frank
