November 10, 200421 yr Hi,Can anyone help me and give me tips on how to use the third party fuel planner utility downloadable from the PMDG web-site?For some reason, while entering the trip information, the FL's only start from 290 and upwards. How can I change this? Be great if someone can just give me a complete overview of this tool, since I don't know how to load/select fuel for my 737s as of now..thanks,-Pranav
November 10, 200421 yr Pranav1.First you should start FS & load your selected 737 aircraft2.Open the fuel planner3.Select your aircraft in the fuel planner & select/enter all your data4.Press the button that says Read Payload weight5.Press Board FuelIt should load your fuel for you. I think I remember hearing that you need FSUIPC in order for the fuel planner to work, maybe someone could elaborate here. I don't think you can select a CRZ alt under FL290.Note: If necessary you should use the 737 load Manager to set your aircraft load/weight before you start FS and obviously before using the fuel planner. That way the fuel planner can read your current aircraft weight.Dave
November 10, 200421 yr Get Ross Carlson's fuel utility:www.metacraft.com/737NGFPI use it for everyflight. :-hah
November 10, 200421 yr I suggest downloading the new fuel planner found here at Avsim, it will let you enter any FL and distances and not be bound by the preset numbers found in other planners. It's very easy to use too. :D
November 11, 200421 yr Hi;Just downloaded the add on you suggesdted and I have a quick question for you.Do you calculate the FMC variables before or after you do the fuel? Thanks ....iain
November 11, 200421 yr Which add-on are talking about? If you are talking about the fuel planner by Milan Puta, you only need to input number of passengers, weight of the cargo in the forward and aft hold. These you can get from the load manager. Enter your distance, height, alternate (if you have one), taxi time and your reserve fuel. Press Calculate fuel and your done. Load the fuel in the plane and then do your normal FMC rutine.I'm not sure about your question though. The FMC variables depend on having the correct amount of fuel in your tanks, so if you load the plane full of fuel, but you only need half and proceed with the FMC rutine and after that you change the fuel load your FMC variables will be wrong....hope it helps.
