November 11, 200421 yr As I type the word "spoiler" I am certain I can actually HEAR a collective and international groan. I know this has been covered a quadzillion times, but I THINK this is a slightly new twist.First: I understand the PMDG method of both arming and deploying the spoilers on the NG. It USED to work well for me. I could deploy the spoilers without fail, either in flight or on the ground, using the "throttle" lever of my CH Flight Yoke mapped to the spoiler axis both within the FS controller setup and in FSUIPC (full version 3.40). I could arm the spoilers in flight without fail by clicking on the spoiler lever in the throttle display of the NG. It all worked, and it worked well.Sadly this is no longer the case! Now, when I click on the spoiler lever to arm the spoilers in flight they immediately fully deploy. I have changed my "click-spot" pixel by pixel to try and find the "sweet spot". No joy: full deployment every time. In addition when I now try to manually deploy the spoilers in flight (usually because I've botched the descent!) using my CH lever, about 50% of the time the spoilers deploy, but do not retract when I return the lever to its original position. The other 50% of the time they retract normally. At first sight this appears, to me at least, to be an axis calibration issue. However I have tried every permutation of adjustment I can think of without success. I have even tried setting dead spots at each extreme of travel using the FSUIPC calibration settings to eradicate any noise that may be confusing the system. If anyone has ideas or suggestions I shall be delighted to hear from them... even if you just want to shout at me for mentioning the dreaded "spoiler" word again! Many thanks for your time and patience in reading this... November 11, 200421 yr No No No - it's not boring. I have exactly the same issue, and it seems to have started when I updated FSUIPC to 3.4. I'm stumped as to a solution, so I also eagerly await solutions from those more gifted than myself at engineering positive outcomes to problems.....Iain
November 11, 200421 yr I'll try to remember how I do it, but it probably won't help much.I don't remember exactly how I deploy it in flight because I try not to at all (and be kind to my pax!).To arm while in flight that's just 1 click. After landing to retract--this is tricky. It's trial and error everytime so I "cheat" by opening the throttle a little and it closes itself.
