BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. SYSTEM COOLING

MY BIG FIX.Are you having Blue Screen of Death, Error messages, System slowdowns??? It was happening to me- 3 times in fact! One resulted in a blown CPU. I was getting Microsoft automatic error messages telling me windows has been shut down to protec your computor etc etc.. to remove those drivers and hardware I just installed.... I was so worried, I even considered chucking the whole issue out of the window and taking up golf or something.I had to do some thinking, different thinking, like instead of thinking about complex pc issues, I decided to go with the KISS principle and start checking out things like connections, power supplies and the like. It was then that something dawned on me, as I was fiddling with a new sound card and trying to shoehorn it between the massive graphics unit and the mainboard, I realised-boy, there's not much space left in here and all these modern gizzmos produce a ton more heat than my spectrum 48kever did! Yep, things were getting decidedly sweaty. So extra fan fitted, and case open, and move unit to a well vented area. Result, temps down from a hefty 60-80deg c, to a pleasant 37deg c. My pc is so happy, it is even giving me some extra frames per second before christmas. It never refuses to work now,(touch wood), even keeps working without a single CTD or dreaded blue screen of death. My planes fly like planes, guages are smooth, slide shows are in the past.So I would like to pass on this slightly useful info to you frustrated simmers out there and just tell you that those terrible events you are having, may not the fault of that new aircraft you just paid 30 quid for, but just a simple matter of thermal inefficiency related to the amount of space age heating equipment you just crammed into your little box.
