A/T, LNAV/VNAV disengage problems.

Featured Replies

Hello! Recently purchased my copy of the 600/700, and am astounded at the detail that has gone into everything, particularly the Virtual Cockpit and FMC! Well done chaps! I do, however, have a small problem that I can't seem to find an answer to; to get accustomed to the aircraft and FMC I decided to follow a guide I downloaded off the PMDG website that included programming the FMC. Everything went fine, taxiied out to the runway, took off, but at 1,000 feet I engaged the autopilot, attempted to engage VNAV and LNAV but received a 'disengage' light of the FMC and neither engaged. Similarly, when attempting to arm the autothrottle it presented me with a disengage and did not arm. I was at least 1 nm before the first programmed turn of the journey and maintaining the outbound/upwind leg of the trip perfectly, so I'm sure I was well within the '3 nm' of the flight plan. Any help and pointers to any silly mistakes I may have made would be greatly appreciated =) Cheers, Jack.

Whenever I've had problems engaging the autothrottle it was because I had forgotten to select the generators before takeoff (i.e., I was running on batteries).R. Foster
