November 28, 200421 yr Hello PMDG Team and PMDG fans,I've recently updated my 737 pmdg to the 737 NG 600/700/800/900 Series. Unlike the standard PMDG 737-600/700 (version 1.3), the updated version isn't allowing me to disconnect from Ground Power. I'm doing start up procedures (based on Timothy's M's recommendations and the PMDG Ops manual) and the problem I'm encountering is when I release the parking brakes. As soon as I release the parking brakes or start the engines Ground Power shuts off (as is supposed to happen) but then other things don't work - such as fuel pump switches, A/T switch, window heat switches, etc... I think I'm doing something wrong but I'm not sure what or where in the process I'm doing something wrong. During APU start, EGT rises and stabilizes and APU Gen lights illuminate. However, I'm not sure if I'm turning the APU Generators on correctly. I'm guessing the generators are turned on by the switch on the overhead panel above the CAB/UTL and the IFE/Pass switches. When the switch is turned to APU GEN, a voltage number is given on the AC vaults display. But if I turn the switch to either GEN 1 or GEN 2, the display gives 0's indicating there is no voltage. Either way, the APU is not being turned on since I lose instruments as soon as the Ground Power is turned off - this didn't happen before the update. I've searched the Forum all day and only found someone with a similar problem which was corrected by turning on the APU Generators (maybe I'm not doing this right). I've also re-installed the plane several times. Some advice would greatly be appreciated. FYI - I'm using Pete Dawson's latest registered FSUIPC, version 3.41I look forward to the PMDG 747-400Thanks in advance,Alex
November 28, 200421 yr Alex,It appears that you are selecting the APU Gen power selector, which is used to see what power the APU gen is producing. The APU GEN switches are placed between the engine generator switches. Once the APU is switched on and has stablised, you'll see the two APU Generator switches illuminate, these switches are placed just to the top left of the actual APU starter switch, or just above the Lighting section on the overhead.John http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewer
November 28, 200421 yr John,Thank you for your prompt reply. You're right, I was confusing the APU Gen power selector with the APU GEN Switches. I guess once the APU Generator switches illuminate we are supposed to switch them on so that the lights go off again. I did this and everything seems to work just fine again. Again, thank you for your help. Alex
