December 1, 200421 yr Frequently, but not always, when I check the fire supression system during my pre-flight the alarm light goes on but the bell doesn't sound. I depress the Fire Alarm button and it clears the light as usual. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this? It appears to be a random anomoly. All other sounds appear to be working properly.
December 6, 200421 yr Hi,I do have the same phenomenon and in fact if you search hard you'll find my mentioning this in a thread somewhere in the summer of 2003 :-) However, in my case it only happens when I use my 2nd monitor for the overhead panel and the throttles, so I have always assumed that it has something to do with that. But don't ask me how.Leo Bakker
December 7, 200421 yr Turn on just the battery power and immediately do your fire test. 100% reproducible.--Gregg Schoenberger
December 7, 200421 yr >Turn on just the battery power and immediately do your fire>test. 100% reproducible.>>-->>Gregg SchoenbergerGregg,Are you saying that if I just turn on the battery power and not ground power this phenomenon will always occur? Thanks.
December 7, 200421 yr Exactly! Flip that one switch and then go to the throttle panel to do your test.--Gregg Schoenberger
December 8, 200421 yr Well, I'll be flipped! Apparently, on occasion I forget to reset the Standby Power swith and go through the alarm test.:+Thanks.
