Power Supply Unit

Featured Replies

Hi all,One quick question, anybody know if the power supply unit Wattage (W) makes a diference in performance? I have a 220W PSU, is that not enought? Any suggestions would be appreciated.Nathanial

I'm no expert but I would think your setup may be hungry for power. Be worth you looking around on the web for suggested power requirements. Certainly graphic cards are starting to specify quite high minimum power requirements. My nVidia 6800 has it's own socket to supply power (via a spare 4 pin power feed from the PSU) - the GT version uses 2!I think it can have an effect on stability and performance and, seeing as how it'll cost you very little, I'd be on the safe side and fit a slightly bigger PSU.

omg...wayyyy too little.here's a nice little reference chart:http://www.fiveanddime.net/powersupply.htmluse it as a guideline rather than the defacto.
