April 3, 200521 yr Hi everybody!Look at following airliners.net -picture showing a B738 (Air Europa) http://www.airliners.net/open.file/800713/L/What do they have for a strange VNAV deviation scale on their NDs??Seems to be the normal white index but then another magenta index where the pointer is on...Airline option? Phantom image because of the camera used?Any ideas,Stefan
April 5, 200521 yr ok, but why are all other (ND) indications clear and why is there another color of the 2nd scale (magenta)? Thanks for your suggestion, though,Stefan
April 5, 200521 yr Well, to me it looks like a combination of VNAV pointer and G/S pointer.CheersThomas
April 5, 200521 yr appears to me that the MFD is in the APP mode (not MAP) and you're seeing the VNAV deviation pointer (in magenta) and the glideslope index (in white).Or vice versa.
April 5, 200521 yr Yeah, thought of that but the glideslope index looks completely different...remember, we have a larger scale (compared to the VNAV scale) and we have white diamonds, not a line like the VNAV stuff.Glen, good observation...so a normal FMA approach config (with AT MCP SPD, VOR/LOC and G/S) <-there even shouldn't be any VNAV scale visible at all, correct?More ideas/suggestions?Thanks so far,Stefan
