April 30, 200521 yr HiI was flying from KLIT to KDFW using the default ATC on a vector to runway 35R at 2200ft, approximately 13 miles out I was vectored between and below the top of some radio towers. Interesting, but I have never had an approach like that before.Anyone have an idea how that happened?I had loaded Active Sky and FS Sky World. The flight plan was filed in route at FL330.
May 2, 200521 yr Hi there Glenn. Never heard of it. But depending on how far away from each other those towers were, sounds like a typical default FS9 atc screw-up. I doubt real controllers would vector you between known obstacles if it could be avoided. 13 miles out means you could be a little higher than 2200ft gievn the usual descent path angle of a typical glideslope.btw tried the SBGR-SBGL with low cost indexes and using some more realistic payload weights (full pax and 20 kg of baggage per passanger + 500kg of excess luggage)) and it worked ok! I might've exagerated on the ZFW when we began discussing this flight, but I never wrote down the real numbers...Best Regards,Victorhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg Cheers,Victor M.
