GF4 ti4600 - It get's weirder....

Featured Replies

Ok, two systems. Both running on XP Pro:System #1: P3-933mhz / 512 SDRAM / GF2-GTS / 29.80System #2: P4-1.9ghz / 768 DDR / GF4-ti4600 / 29.80On first glance one would expect sys #2 winning on all fronts....bear with me now:** 3DMark2001SE results:System #1: 3850 (expected result, not bad)System #2: 9000 (bit too low, but sys #2 has a 100mhz FSB. 10K+ systems all have >100mhz.)** FS2K2 Results:(both systems have same display settings, res. and colordepth.no (FS)AA, no other tweaks)System #1: Meigs default 30 FPS (!!!)System #2: Meigs default 20 FPSNow go figure.....Can somebody please explain me where this difference comes from?As far as I can tell, it's purely FS2K2 related (when looking at the 3DMark). So nothing to do anymore with memory, processor speed, whatsoever. It looks like FS2K2 and the ti4600 do not get along. If only I knew why....and what causes it.Main question in fact is:What makes system #1, with lower specs, run *faster* than system #2, while the 3DMark results as so far apart??Any help/hint/tips are appreciated :)Richter
