June 12, 200520 yr Just a small question about the cost index in the FMC. I know that individual airlines set their own CI dependant on their needs, but I am confused as to whether a lower percentage is more cost efficient or a higher percentage is more cost efficient. eg. is 10% more/less cost efficient than say 80%? What do most people set it to. I'm sorry if this is a bit gabled, but....Thanks for your helpDavid Winters
June 12, 200520 yr Hi there David.Well, you can check this thread here,if you haven't done already.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchThe CI is pretty much explained there. So to sum up what the different fellow simmers said> High CI-You get to your destination faster-Higher Fuel consumption-Less time on air>Less aircrew feesLow CI-You get to your destination slower-Lower Fuel consumption-More time on air>higher aircrew feesSo whatever suits you better is fine, but like it was said:"You aren't paying for the fuel now,do you?"I hope I got it right---- :D Kind Regards_______________________________Georgios Arkouzis http://www.ivao.org/data/images/flags/waving/small/GR.gif SX077http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg_______________________________
June 12, 200520 yr Thank you very much for your help. That has made it very clear!!I was asking as much out of interest than for actual flight!!!!! Although it is useful to know that if I enter a higher number i will get to my destination quicker!!David
