June 18, 200520 yr During the TGIF flyin ATC instructed me to hold at the ALDAN intersection after I already passed it. He forgot to tell me earlier so he gave me vectors to turn around safely and go back. Well the problem was the FMC (737-800) would not allow me to reenter that waypoint in the flight plan. I tried putting that waypoint at the top of the page in the FMC and even tried deleting the other waypoints (only two remained) to no avail.Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around something like this because I was basically in everyone's way at that point. I disconnected after awhile. :-roll G. Green

It should generate a DISCO before any other waypoints that already existed. Once you're heading to that waypoint, you can then program a HOLD at that waypoint.I can't think of why that didn't work for you - I had a similar experience where I got vectored around after BUZZY back on to the STAR, and I was able to reprogram BUZZY back into the LEGS page.Try it again on another flight.Best wishes,
