voice commands for the747

Featured Replies

Hi all,After using FS2crew with the 737, I was thinking that it would be good to have a way to have an F/O along for the ride in the 744. I found this program some time ago. I just dug it out of my HDD and re-installed it and with very little stuffing around- Viola! Voice commands with the 744 (and anything else you care to set up a profile for). The program is free and is called SHOOT! and you can get it from here http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/ I am aware there are payware solutions for voice recognition, but this one is simple, easy and FREE!The profiles are written as XML files and are simply edited with notepad. Here is the simple one I made up for the 744 http://dtkt.customer.netspace.net.au/images/misc/PMDG744.xml (right click and save to file)It includes most of the functions for the MCP as well as gear and flaps (all the stuff you need the F/O to do in busy times like after take off and on rollout). Now you could go crazy and make voice commands for everything single keystroke, but my philosophy was to keep key strokes for button presses and have voice commands only for things which would really be spoken. There is an FS2004 profile available from where you get the program and it has a good example of using voice commands for EVERYTHING.Oh BTW, I tried to get this program to work with FS2crew for the 737, but it was impossible, as it uses mouse clicks- not key strokes. Edit- I forgot to mention, none of the keystrokes I have used in this profle are mapped in the PMDG menu, in MSFS you must go to PMDG>General>Keyboard commands and map custom keystrokes. The ones I have used are commands that aren't already mapped to something else in the MSFS key assigments in my setup (to prevent conflicts).
