i am thinking of buying an pmdg product but the aircraft i might buy would be my first time using the fmc and a fully up to date panel because i have flown concorde and that is not an flyby wire panel but what would be the best product for a starter product would it be the 737 or the 747

Hi you will get more responses if you sign your posts. There both equally excellant IMHO it really depends on which you prefer. I have both.

The 737/747 are not fly by wire as far as I know, I think you mean glass cockpit which they are.Whilst there are more bits and buttons on the 747, I would say it is probably more down to the sort of flights you do. Short hops go for the 737, long haul the 747, although the latter can do short stuff if you wish. Whichever you choose will provide a good Boing simulation.
