December 8, 200520 yr Paul,I agree with your observation: F2, as reverse engine command, should produce a very loud sound in spot view, something like a temporarily full power engine "roar" (you can hear this in reality after touchdown). Unfortunately the corresponding sound file in the PMDG 747 is not so effective.Andrea
December 8, 200520 yr its the same with the APU on, you don't hear it when in the external views, its as if they programmed the sound files to ONLY work no matter where you are, as if you were always in the cockpit.
December 8, 200520 yr Alex,it is probably due to the fact that PMDG developers, in order to manage the huge complexity of the 747 simulation, have been forced to mange part of the sounds out of the FS9 standard rules. Take in mind that only to reproduce cockpit environmental sounds (electrics, battery, fan, packs, AVfans, etc.) there are many files connected to the related states. If you try to replace PMDG 747 sound folders with every sound package designed for a standard FS9 aircraft you'll realize what I mean. For sure, on a pure sound realism point of view and expecially for base sounds, PMDG should revise something.Andrea
