Cold and dark startup

I have a question about the cold and dark download for the pmdg 747-400. i downloaded a diffrent livery from pmdg (northwest) i started the sim with the pmdg cold and dark download not the one that came with the PMDG but the one from this tutorial http://smithplanet.com/fs2004/pmdg/index.htm that i was told about in the tutorial everything was fine i then went to the menu and chose a diffrent livery becasue i wanted all the settings to stay the same but i wanted to fly with the northwest colors i didnt think it would be a big deal but it was. When the plane loaded i went to the overhead panel and all of a sudden switches went on by themselves i could here fans and i never even turned on the battery. I guess my question would be how do i make a cold and dark save excactly like the download except for a diffrent livery???
