December 26, 200520 yr This may be very silly, but still...I've been messing with the mixture control of my B1900C engine and accidently cut the fuel to the left engine. The torque went to zero, but the RPM stayed high and the prop animation continued. Is this normal? I had to restart the engine to get torque up again.Amit
December 26, 200520 yr Amit,I guess that is how it is supposed to be when you are in flight and you didn't feather your left propellor.Since the engine didn't get any fuel, it stopped delivering power to the shaft so torque would be zero. However, due to the fact that the planes still moves forward, air is pushed through the propellor causing it to move, windmilling, and thus keeping up the RPM.Feathering the prop would change the angle of the propellorblades so that they would catch less air. When this happened on the ground, I guess there was a healthy headwind blowing. If not it could be considered a bug in the airplane.have a nice christmasLuc 'Glaudrung' Brusselmans
