Winds question

Recommended Posts

Guest Ohio330

Ive learned enough to get my way around in the FMC, but i have a question. I had a route planned and activated LNAV in flight. The plane slowly drifed off course and i noticed that the winds were at 270 deg/25kt. Figured the winds pushed me off track. I went into the fmc during flight and it appears I cant modify the wind direction/speed once the fmc has been activated. I then reset the flight and went to where i could activate wind/speed. I tried tho enter a random dir/speed into one of the empty slots. (using 250/25 to see what it would do) the numbers seemed to enter, but then the numbers disappeared (back to looking like ___ (deg)/___ ) Also, how do you know what wind dir/speed to enter for each leg? Does the add-on Active Sky help with this?
