spd change on 747

Recommended Posts

HiIIRC on the 737 you can change the speed via the spd entry on the vnav page in the fmc. I dont seem to be able to do this in the 747. Anyone know if it's supposed to be this way? - I can change spd ok via the mcp, maybe that's the correct way for this type ?MTIASteve

You are correct. If you look at the FMC cruise page, when "Speed Intervene" is commanded, you will see an entry for "MCP Speed" on the page. Once you deselect Speed Intervention, the entery goes back to ECON speed mode.

I need to correct my above post. It's not on the VNAV Cruise page, it's on the PROG page. If you Speed Intervene, the entry on LSK5 goes from "ECON SPD" (or "LRC SPD" if you are using that), to "MCP SPD". When deselecting Speed Intervene, it goes back to ECON or LRC SPD.
