WRONG example in PMDG 747F manual

Recommended Posts

Guest topcat

Hello pilots,Page 25 of the new PMDG 747-400F manual shows a sample Take-Off Weight Limit Weight calculation. However, the instructions given in the example seem to be wrong:1) The chart on page 20 (which is being used for the example) is based on a 2% upslope.2) The chart is based on a ~9400ft runway, and not on a 10000ft runway.3) The manual states, you should move horizontally and vertically until both lines intersect. That's not correct. You should move horizontally to the reference line (as shown in the graph on page 20) and then follow the curved arc until it intersects the vertical line.4) The sample gives a result of 360000 kgs. If you do it correctly the result should be around 400000 kgs.Best Regards,Christian GrillTOPCAThttp://topcat.ofplan.net
