August 2, 200619 yr I have posted a few times about how to smooth out the upper level winds, most of the responses said either FSUIPC or Activesky. I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with either and would like to share them. I love my framerates so I would like to try to keep them around where they are. Any info would be appreciated I am thinking about buying one or the other tomarrow morning when I wake up.Thanks, Alex
August 2, 200619 yr Activesky is the premiere [sp?] weather enhancement for FS2004 though it does have a few issues (including the frame-rate one). If you have a space second computer around and a little more money do WideFS and stick Activesky on the second system (which is what I plan to do). Activesky performs wind smoothing (it uses FSUIPC, but you don't need to register FSUIPC for it) and the new version has an option to smooth out your entire flight plan to keep the winds aloft data accurate. Provided with a flight plan, it will also generate the entire route winds data and offer to print it. Very nice little feature there.Activesky also integrates with FS-Build so you can do a 'wx-req' from FS-Build to have your weather data imported into FS-Build for performing weather calculations.
