December 31, 200619 yr I went and did it!Ordered the Quad FX promo package from NewEgg.http://promotions.newegg.com/AMD/AMD_Gaming122606/index.htmlBought it with the FX-74.Purchased 4 gig Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800Mhz, 4-4-4-12-2T.Also got a BFG-GForce 8800GTX and a Enermax 1000 Watt PSU.Kyle Bennet claims two FX-74's are packed in each box?http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA==The L1N64-SLI mobo has two NV-590 chips and can be set up for an effective HT-2000 speed, the chipset is NV-680a. The 680i is for intel, would you...I have a drive with WinXP-64 on it. I will use this drive to get it to post, then test the memory with memtest-86 and Ortho after that. Then I will set up a few Raptors to boot the OS from RAID-0.It's a power hog with all the CPU's, SLI vid, fans, etc., don't care, for now. I will be able to drop a few K8L's in when the time comes. If this thing, (when I get the parts), won't run FSX with decent frames I give up.I know their are other cheaper solutions right now, intel based. I just like AMD's platform and can see an upgrade path that I'm not sure itel has?
