AT speed deselect

Recommended Posts

Guest ha5mvo

Hi,Just wanted to know wether low speed protection is implemented on the 737 when throttles are armed and speed's deselected.I know landing with AT armed is controversial, though it IS a feature. Also, I noted that if you hit TOGA, say, on the ground with just the FD engaged (AT/AP off), it would point to -8 degrees (the brown section). Surely that's not how it's supposed to be. Or am I doing something wrong?Thanks/Michael

For your question 2: I think the FD points down on the beginning of the takeoff roll in order to maintain nosewheel steering authority until airspeed reaches to a point where rudder becomes effective. As you accelerate past V1 you should see it go up and command a 15 deg nose up.- Neeraj
