Backing up FS2k2

Featured Replies

I like to tinker around with my computer a lot and as a result end up formating my HDD every 2-3 months. I am getting tired of having to modify everything again when reinstalling FS2k2. I wanted to know how many people back up their FS and what methods they use to do it.Thanks

Hi,I never backed it up.All Software are installed on a separate partition. What i need if i reinstall Windows is to create a shortcut to FS.If i add a new version of Windows i do the same : I create a shortcut and all runs fine without any installation of FS.I do the same for any FS : 98 - 2000 - 2002.You just need to reinstall some add-on wich maybe install some files in the windowssystem directory or write some needed infos in the registry. If you want FS 2002 to be installed correctly and follow the above advice do this :Rename your FS2002 directory.Reinstall FS2002 in the same directory.Delete FS2002 after the new installation.Rename back your renamed FS2002 directory. In this way the registry will be correct otherwise (for example) Zone will not find the FS 2002 installation because it search in the registry.Longbow
