August 3, 200223 yr Hi everyone,I wonder how to land with 200fpm and tuch down like silk. When I use autoland it never gets the plane down like silk, but the airbrake works on automatic. When I handfly any PSS or Dreamfleet plane on final, I somehow cant get it done with 200fpm. Can anyone here tell me how to do it? Lago maintenance allways complains about a to hard tuchdown! August 3, 200223 yr Hey, I can tell you a method. Do you have a yoke or joystick? Just checking, because this is easier to do with them.http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d45c0a74ed4e325.jpgAA RULES!!! :)Download my semi-photoreal AA 757!:http://ftp.avsim.com/library/sendfile.php?DownloadID=16882Aerolineas Argentinas A330-200 NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyR.../posky332ar.zipChrome AA 767 NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyR...osky767aaV1.zipDominicana de Aviacion 727-53C NOW AVAILABLE!!http://www.thevivcorp.com/~fyarepaints/MyRepaints/dom722.zip______________________________"Whenever you find yourself in the side of the majority it's time to pause and reflect" - Mark Twain
August 3, 200223 yr Firstly, when you're descending, use the Trim buttons to control the descent (not the main ailerons). Then, when you're 30-40 feet above the runway, flare the aircraft (nose-up)slightly whilst cutting back on the power. The plane should then gently 'drift' down onto the ground, but it takes a lot of practise. It's sort of a balance between attitude and power. Same for the jets (private or commercial), but things happen a lot faster. Try to avoid Autoland - If you're on an ILS approach, disconnect the autopilot at about 700 feet AGL (or earlier) and hand-fly the landing. It's very satisfying when you get it right!!
August 4, 200223 yr Well, I use a Joystick MS-ForceFeedback2. Today I practiced some finals by hand. The PSS A3xx I cant trim so good on final, 'cause my joystick buttons are all setup with other functions. But I managed just ones fine to tuch down the A321c like a feather by being slightly too fast, doing the last part by hand and cut the throttle some hundret meters hovering over the runway. I tuched down so gently that the airbrakes didnt come and even the autobrake didnt come. I still have to practice with B734 and B744. Is it realy so hard to do a real soft tuchdown in reality as well? Regards, Torben Hadler
