Lockups a possible solution

Featured Replies

HiThis may help you if you have this problem in FS2002I have been having lockups which I thought were sound related, and came across this tip at one of the forums.I have a Gf3 ti200 clocked heavily to 220/500, but it wasnt that causing the problem...I reduced the IO voltage from 3.6 to 3.2 in the bios and set AGP drive to manual EA and voila lockups have stopped. Also AGPx4 is working no probs.BTW I have Abit KT7A board so this fix may be system specific --hope this helps someone else ;00Sun

Voltage issues can certainly cause problems with the newer AGP cards... Your fix may be BIOS specific, but it certainly may help some...-John

It could also be the significant drop in voltage has eliminated a heating problem which, in turn, caused the lockups. With IC's more voltage always means more heat and voltage reductions always give a certain amount of "free" cooling.TripNorthwood 2.2a at 2.72Ghz Abit TH7II-R512MB Samsung 40ns PC800Gainward GF4 Ti4200 300/57030.30's DX8.1 WinXP ProInwin case / Enermax 431W PSU3DMark2001SE = 12055http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=4088814
