October 20, 200817 yr Hey guys,Just bought the MD-11 - loving it so far...just one little question:I've noticed on the PMDG 747 and MD-11 that the highest rate of random failures that I can set is 1 per 10 hours of flight. I understand that represents an average rate over a lengthly amount of time.At that rate, however, one would experience a failure every few days, perhaps as many as one per flight considering the range of both aircraft. Is there any way of reducing this frequency to something that better represents the real world (without 100% simulating the stamina of real-world airliners, of course - an airline pilot might go an entire career only seeing 1 or 2 EICAS messages in flight)? It's just that I like train for failures in a manner that prepares me for that rare instance when one might be experienced during routine flight. Perhaps a rate of 1 per 100 to 500 hours would allow me to mimic the importance of training to handle the eventual bump in the road, while still completing the majority of flights conflict-free.Ryan
