July 10, 200223 yr "The FMC cancels the route data after a period of unuse, how long is this period of time?."Are you referring to the 28 day limit for each navdata cycle, Robin... or how long the route will be held with airplane power removed? Re the latter... Some things in the FMC will be held for longer than others when power is removed from the FMC and CDU. A few minutes of no power should clear most pilot entries from the memory banks. The former raises a question I hadn't thought about. If you are flying (i.e. in the air), using a Company Route from the Nav Database and the database expires, does the "NAV DATA OUT OF DATE" msg appear in the scratchpad... and if so, do you have to reload the company route?Thanks.Cheers.Ian.
