Some questions about PIC

Featured Replies

Hey, I would like to ask some questions:1. Failures: you want to expect any failure during the flight or at least for a first tryal a single engine failure after take off with PIC. What settings do you need to configure?2. Using the panel on a 757: a) ZFW - what values do we need to use?:( Is there a file for loading passengers and cargo like some other planes of ZFW is the same all the time? What should we configure for a 757-200?3. I am quite confused by the manuals. Can somebody explain me a quick way to load the panel, from a situation where everything is OFF to for example the take-off position? For now it is all. harpsi

Any particular reasons you posted this twice?Read the manuals. Seriously. Questions 1 and 3 imply that you've hardly opened them. This is all from memeory, but for a quick and dirty answer to number 3:1) Battery on2) Standby power auto3) APU - Rotate to start, then release to Run4) Rotate all three IRS's to "NAV"5) FMC - Complete POS, INIT, RTE, and TAKEOFF pages with information6) MCP - F/D On, initial heading and altitude entered7) Hyd pumps ON, fuel pumps ON. Generator control and Utility bus switches ON. Bus ties CLOSED. Bleed air valves OPEN. Packs OFF. Beacon ON.8) Engine 1 - Start switch to "GND." At 20% N2, fuel control switch to "RUN"9) Repeat number 8 for engine 2 when engine 1 is stabilize.10) APU OFF. Packs ON. Bleed isolation valves CLOSED. LNAV/VNAV ARMed. A/T ARMed. Flaps 5 or 15.11) On takeoff: Advance throttles to 50% N1. Stabilize. Engage autothrottle.12) Rotate at VR and fly!Again...RTFM.Jon (KSEA)

>Any particular reasons you posted this twice? Some people can't be bothered to even look at the whole page apparently... :-roll ;-) He posted it four times! :-lolMartin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing

Now this is when you really miss the old WorkingStiff right? :-lol

That would be too easy. :-lol

Well, thanks for so much posts without help! Specially for the first two questions! There are also some others posting twice or more, and tyhose are irrelevant questions. At least I want to learn when I dont understand something ... and I read the manuals more than 2 times! Thanks anywayharpsi

Hmmmm.....I could've sworn that I posted the quick steps to pre-flight the plane and get it off the ground. Or did you not read that either?Jon (KSEA)

How anyone who is obviously lacking in will or ability to read somehow feels they can master the systems of the 767 is an enigma to me!

And if instead of those posts someone could answer me the first 2 questions? that would be better for sure! :(harpsi
