August 25, 200223 yr Hi,I have a question about the difference between the 767-200ER and the 767-300ER. now that I have PIC I would also like to fly the 767-200ER. So now I wonder if it is realistic to use the PIC FDE with a 200ER and just changing the ZFW? I suggest the real 767-300ER and the 200ER have different rate of climb etc? Am I right or is it just the weight that is different between those two, which also concernces the flightbehaviour between those two aircrafts? How does this affect the FMC????Because if the PIC FDE do not simulate it realistic enough than I woldn
August 26, 200223 yr If you reduce the ZFW to that of a 762, you will climb very fast because the engines will still be those of a 763. Otherwise, I think the FMC will be OK since it can handle different ZFWs. Now, if you reduce thrust to that of a 762, then the FMC will have trouble predicting fuel usage and perhaps even optimal altitudes, etc. That is why when I put together my 762 merge I left the flight dynamics completely alone (pure PIC).Lee Hetherington (KBOS)
August 26, 200223 yr Yesterday I was on the Boeing Homepage and in the technical specs you can read that the 200ER and the 300ER have the same engines, the same wingspan and the same hight. The only difference between those two is the lenght of the body. That
August 27, 200223 yr It sounds to me like it should be as close to reality as the -300 is to reality. The only other difference I can think of is fuel capacity, and that is easily altered in FS Aircraft Editor. It would be interesting to hear from some real-world 767-200/300 pilots about the differences between the two.-twilky
