August 29, 200223 yr Hi I know the PIC FMC calculates V speeds automatically but I was wondering if the real FMC on the 767 calculates the v speeds automatically? Or do you have to calculate them from the tables? Also I know there is a way via ACARS where you can obtain your V speeds. How does this work? When you do it this way do the V speeds uplink right into the takeoff ref page or do you have to print this takeoff performance from the ACARS and put in the V speeds manually? Thank You
August 29, 200223 yr The PIC 767 FMC works just like the real FMC except for some of the buttons that are non-functional. However the speeds have to be set manunally as opposed to automatic like on 767 PIC. Pedro
August 29, 200223 yr FMC's are also operator specific, I assume the one on PIC is what American use. However in BA 767's the FMC is a lot more like the DF 737 FMC, with CLB, CRZ & DES pages. Also the EICAS gauges are company specific, EPR readouts are primary on BA 767's as opposed to N1 on AAL :-)
August 29, 200223 yr >Also the EICAS gauges are company specific, EPR readouts are >primary on BA 767's as opposed to N1 on AAL To be a nitpick, that's actually engine specific. GE engines use N1 as primary thrust reference, while PW and RR use EPR (and RR engines also have N3 since it's a three-spool engine).Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing
